I have notified our Traffic Engineer about this issue and he has gone out and inspect this location. Unfortunately I have been informed that this sign does not indicate where vehicles are allowed to park. This sign does not supersede state law which prohibits vehicles parking within 20’ of an intersection. Unfortunately the sign will not be moved and will remain the same. I cannot believe that your engineer looked at the correct sign. The sign in question is on Willow Ave. on the south side of the intersection of Willow Ave. and Mallet Street. The sign clearly indicates permit parking and has arrows pointing north and south (up and down Willow Ave.). This is incorrect, according to the prohibited parking within 20' of the intersection law, as you've stated. It should have a ONE direction arrow pointing south, so that cars do not park within 20 feet of the corner. Another permit parking sign, AT THE SAME INTERSECTION, indicates parking direction correctly. This sign is on Willow Ave., north of Mallet Street, and points only in one direction, north, indicating that parking between the sign and the corner is not permitted. Do I need to post pictures???

Somebody's placed white tape over one arrow head. The sign now indicates the correct direction of parking.
