saw the hypodermic needle there today. any way the needles on the beach can be removed before someone gets stuck?

Seriously? It takes Boston more than a day to clean up a dirty used needle?

That used hypodermic needle is still there. It is a DCR managed beach, I emailed the DCR about it. No response sent back.

Geez. I'll go by on my lunch hour tomorrow with plastic gloves and a bag and clean up the needle and glass.

I went and cleaned up the glass and needle during my lunch hour on Tuesday. Of course, this was under the glare of a drunk guy doing his best to finish off a 12 pack of beer. Oh, and there's new additions to the beach, too. Old underwear, a small rug, and other items. I'm dismayed at how poorly the DCR is doing at beach upkeep and patrolling.

Thanks Forrest, that was a good deed. There are vagrants around there all the time. They leave blankets, under wear, food, etc. all the time. Over by G st someone uses the bench on the composite beach entrance as a toilet. No other animal would make that kind of a mess. The DCR hacks drive by on the gator vehicles at top speed while texting, but never stop to clean up.

I DID see that guy zooming while talking on his cell phone! He didn't even look at the beach; he was just laughing on the phone as he went along down the sidewalk in his fancy golf cart. Clueless so-and-so. I was going to flag him down, but he was too quick for me.
